Following on from the success of the tour to China in March and the setting up of distributor agreements, Huw Williams has recently visited China again to consolidate the promotional work being carried out in the county.

Wuhan

Demonstrations were given to local authorities responsible for foundation works on site in Wuhan. Testing was carried out on large diameter piles forming the foundation for a new river crossing. Remarkable results were obtained considering the high length to diameter ratio, demonstrating the full potential of the TDR2 system.

A demonstration and presentation on fundation testing was also given to the Academy of Science and Technology in Wuhan, and institution well known in China for geotechnical excellence, and already offering foundation testing services.

Shanghai

A short flight later and we were in Shanghai to attend the first international Conference on Geotechnical Risk (ISGSR2007) at Tongji University in the heart of Shanghai. The conference was attended by many well known international geotechncal engineers. A presentation was given to delegates by Huw Williams on the advantages and limitations of various pile testing techniques.

Testconsult equipment was on display with our new portable exhibition stands and attracted a good deal of interested engineers.
