Testconsult Ireland have recently been awarded several large materials testing contracts in Ireland, one of which are in joint venture with a major Spanish test house.
Limerick Southern Ring Road Phase II
Testconsult Ireland has recently been awarded the materials testing contract for this project by the Direct Route Consortium, comprising of Straberg AG, John Sisk & Son Limited, Lagan Holdings Limited and Roadbridge Limited.
The project is a grade separated dual carriageway with interchanges to existing and proposed roads, a submerged tube river crossing (similar in design to the Lee Crossing in Cork) of the Shannon with over bridges, under bridges and link roads as required to access the existing road network. Phase II is a continuation of the existing Southern Ring Road project and will extend the Phase I section to join the N20 to the N18. This scheme will complete the Limerick Southern Ring Road and link all the national roads coming into Limerick
N6 Galway to Ballinasloe Toll Road – EuroTestconsult Limited
In another joint venture with a Spanish contractor, Testconsult Ireland and Euroconsult in a 50:50 JV have been awarded the materials testing contract by N6 Construction Limited (Sacyr FCC and PJ Hegarty) on the N6 Galway to Ballinasloe project.
The 350 million euro scheme is dual carriageway extending from Doughiska in the East of Galway city to Tulrush east of Ballinasloe. It consists of 55.80 kilometres of dual carriageway, a 7 kilometer link road from Carowkell to Loughrea and approximately 23 kilometres of side roads. There are 4 grade separated junctions, 36 bridges and a Toll Plaza located at Cappataggle.
Site laboratories have been set up to carry out a full range of materials testing on both of these contracts, being supported by our UKAS accredited central laboratory in Portlaoise where required.
