Large scale shear box for Trondheim University - May 2012
Trondheim University NTNU has recently taken delivery of a SB2010 large scale shearbox, designed and manufactured by Testconsult Equipment. The equipment is being used by the rock mechanics department to assess the strength of the interface between tunnel lining materials and rock, using custom designed shear box inserts.
Testconsult Equipment is able to modify any equipment and software that it manufactures to suit a clients particular requirements, with it's in-house design and programming team.
The standard SB2010 shearbox has an infinitely variable rate of strain loading system for horizontal shearing and is capable of vertical and horizontal loads of up to 100KN. All operations are computer controlled, giving a real time readout of test data.
