Tension Pile Tests on busy A14 - June 2011
Helical steel piles have recently been installed along the A14 and A45 trunk roads by ScrewFast Foundations Limited, forming foundations for an elevated platform and new roadside matrix information signs. Testconsult Limited was called in as an independent specialist test house to verify the tensile load capacity of piles at several locations along the route.
All testing was carried out using Testconsult's in-house SLT2 static pile testing system, which precicely records load and displacement measurements in real time.
