ASLT - Automatic Load Testing System
The traditional method of carrying out a static load test is to hire a jack, load cell, hydraulic pump and a few dial gauge indicators, install on the pile and leave a foreman to apply and maintain the load manually sometimes non-stop over a period of over 24 hours. Under these circumstances, it is nigh on impossible to maintain the required load accurately with the additional danger of having to work directly under live loads whilst taking dial gauge readings. There is however, an alternative!
The Testconsult Equipment ' Automatic Static Load Testing System' is controlled by a portable computer which follows the load testing cycle you have chosen. The computer takes readings via a data logger of load and pile movement, and controls the applied load using an air/hydraulic load maintainer. All readings are taken remotely in complete safety and stored automatically. The complete system comprises :
- Portable computer with controller software, load test templates and data transfer lead
- Controller unit, containing LVDT power supply, battery charger, balancing units and leads
- Compressed air controlled load maintainer (Can used compressor or nitrogen bottles)
- Load cell and lead
- Hydraulic jack and hose
- LVDT's (Linear variable displacement transducers) and clamps
The system is able to maintain load to within 1% of the target load, and contains failsafe features which would enable the operator to restart the system in the event of power failure without loosing any data. The system is able to operate using any 700 bar jack or even combination or jacks. The total price of the system will depend on the size of jack and load cell required and the specification of portable computer required.
SLT2 - Static Load Test Monitoring System
The SLT2 is purpose designed to monitor static pile load tests and present data in accordance with Eurocode 7.
The equipment consists of a data acquisition unit, 25m cable reel, four electronic displacement transducers and load cell. The system is supplied with software for acquisition, display and printing of results. The load and deflection readings are collected by a data logger, which continuously downloads data to a PC. Data is then simultaneously displayed and stored for printing.
This system enables you to monitor a static load test accurately from distances of up to 25m without the need for personnel to be in close proximity to potentially dangerous, highly loaded system components.
